2012 Honda Gold Wing Unveiled Review
Today unveiled the latest version 2012 Honda Gold Wing as a new model available from May 2011.
Although Honda does not show a 2011 model for the wing, do not rule out the failure of a year between 2010 and 2012 (although Honda) against which marks the 37th year, otherwise the wing was released on the road, road Back in the 75.
We are confident that the new GW to maintain the classic features Ala. - such as a sturdy frame and responsive, smooth, linear engine performance, and the like Barcalounger comfort - that made this series a favorite touring Honda. However, this wing latest version is well within the shadow of its predecessor.
Some major changes in 12 has not seen the pilot is largely dedicated to environmental design, leaving a 1832cc, horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine intact, the platform for the most part succeeds.

Revised style is seen in the redesigned tail light, and the main dome is a bit sportier looking for new double mouths just above the bi.
A new softer side fairing / panel radiator, finished in silver color scheme creates a two-tone with four colors (blue, black, red and white). The panel is also a newly redesigned Honda emblem that looks identical to that found in the CBR1000RR. Honda says the review of the fascia improves wind protection, especially for lower body / leg room.
The new wing has spent a little sharper, clearer overview, and generally applauded Welcome to the face. But when you take into account compensation and design of repairs - not to speak of the gap between the models! - Honda We must ask, "Why an electronically adjustable windshield?"
Until now, the Gold Wing is one of the few big tourer without window control button. Hondas own, long-lived, is ST1300. Because a power forward?

Supporting grants of up to 7.0 liters, which increased the size of memory - including the frame and the fairing pockets - is 150.0 liters. Non-airbag models are also the main storage pocket, presumably in which the airbag-equipped models lie in the way otherwise. Materials seats completed is updated, and now the wheels are clear coated for easy cleaning and helps to maintain a new look as well.
Honda satellite navigation system (available on some models GW) has a brighter color screen, and offers a "programmability to share favorite running routes with friends and other riders," which is available online as Honda.
Primo Sound System Wing (all models), with SRS CS Auto is now readily accepted around MP3 players, and allows full control via the drive controller on the board of the handlebar. XM Radio is an available option in the package Navi. Honda says that the instrumentation is also updated all the Wings.
Other notable changes for 2012 GW is "revised suspension settings," making for a more consistent, which leads to comfort, says Honda important news.

Although Honda does not specify the specific changes to the suspension, a quick look at the specifications for the 2012 model reveals that, while the rear suspension travel of 4.1 inches is unchanged from the previous model, the new wing is a reduction of 0.7 inches of travel model 2009 -10 5.5-inch 45mm fork.
The new GW also won some.
He called for a curb weight of 2012 model 904-933 pounds (depending on trim level) where the last wing Weight 895-928 pounds.
Fuel capacity appears to have increased from 6.6 gallons to 6.7 gallons. But it would not surprise us if the nominal increase in fuel capacity was simply an oversight in the specifications. We met with major typo on the other OEM sites and materials. But hey, if one tenth of one gallon: the difference between tanking and go, well take it!
Assessing the new wing
From the flagship of Honda Gold Wing is likely to have been the leader of iconic touring motorcycle segment. For decades, big, GW has set the standard potential of the chassis and engine performance, all decorated with plant tours.
However, it is a little disappointing Goldwing lack of innovation in 2012, won only the updates fast, after so many years with relatively few changes. It does not bode well in the BMW K1600GT soon face is completely new and GTL.
These scale touring Beemer offer many services, including, not least of which is known now, and help button on the suspension, the ESA II. K new bike, volunteer "adaptive headlights also sounds like a gimmick, and involve a number of other practical options, such as traction control and Bluetooth capability, some high-tech issues, while the choice of riding on the premises is a standard feature .
Also, if youre a little GEARHEAD, be aware that BMW claims 160 horses and 129 high crank 7750 ft-lb at 5250 rpm for a new bike K, as Mr. Duke announced unlock our bikes to Lenos house. Gold Wing flat-six years, when the relatively strong and is much room for improvement.

The last time we tested a wing - Luxury Touring Shootout 2009 - Honda spun the dyno for best results of 96 hp at 5600 rpm and 103 lb.-ft. at 4200 rpm. Factor to the loss of average power to a shaft final drive and BMW is dust in the wing with what we estimated that 136 to 140 horsepower rear wheel K16.
The length of the pair, it is estimated that 113 to 110 pounds-feet, a little less dramatic compared to Honda. The BMW also weigh somewhere in the neighborhood of 135 pounds less than the GW.

Maybe get a MSRP is an equalizer for the Gold Wing? Nope. Do not look that way.
2012 Honda Gold Wing Award is currently set at $ 23,199 to $ 28.499 depending on the option group - a marginal increase from $ 300 to $ 600 in 2010 prices.
BMW recently announced U.S. prices for K1600GT, available in three packages, from $ 20.900 to $ 24.540. K1600GTL The most luxurious is to use less $ 23.200 for the basic version and $ 25,845 for the Premium model.

Gold Wing has not seen the ground-up remake for some time. Given the number of updates to 2012 model skosh BNG ("bold new graphics"), we can only wonder how long we must wait until the Gold Wing is once again the default bid for bike touring.

2011 Buell 1125CR Review
Paul James, Director of Communications Buell product, was presented to the press near the worlds first boulevard, Unter der Linden, just steps away from the deconstructed Berlin Wall. Specifically, we were under the city streets of Berlin at the Potsdamer Plaza Metro station in an area rave-ready concrete hidden between floors of the public station. Based on the landscape for the common people, yet unique and worth taking a look - as Buell 1125CR. It is more than just "sport Harley" as often described Buell. CR is ready to compete with the Japanese.
2009 1125CR café racer was revealed in the shadow becomes the center of the city and historic and modern architecture and the sprawling countryside that is timeless.
All Buell 2009 range comprises six models in three different lines: the street, adventure and sports. The models vary by engine configuration and design intent but continue the culture that has grown pot to illustrate the "American" ideal. Composite parts made in China, Italy, Germany and the United States, the global synergy of buyer, builder and supplier has blurred into a complete package in the form of the 1125R.
We all know my last report, the new Buell Cafe Racer unveiled and journalist tested in Germany despite being ready to shoot his way rolling on the premises in recent weeks. We also wonder why we had to wait and why Buell chose a European center in the field of evidence of American sport bike.
Also on the scene, poking our cameras where they belong, this time Fonzie was in the saddle to experience the café racer in action. The first two days in Germany we warmed our rubber a years super smooth and paved Spreewaldring testing center just 30 minutes south of Berlin, Germany. Buell designed the day at a time concentrating on braking, cornering and acceleration and how the updates performed on the Helicon engine mapping. I chalked as a refresher course and riding school. Round and round like a merry old fool clicking off laps like there was no tomorrow, the hours seemed shorter and shorter as the day wore on. Aside from learning Helicon 146HP in a controlled environment, I had a blast getting my first track time in over two years on a café racer.
Fortunately, the technical 1.67 mile track is more like the streets of willow than the big one here in California, ideal for the steep-rake XB-like 1125R. It does not take long for anyone to realize the CR has little in the way we manage the flow of air, which favors a minimal bikini windscreen similar to the XB model line. Without the big bubble to push the atmosphere at high speed, the eminent head shakes and affordable with the tonnage mark indicated on the digital speedometer. The "quiet zone" as Buell calls the space behind the fairing of the 1125R is gone, leaving you more exposed to the elements. This is where the most gain mode function - hooligan inside can not hide the aerodynamic forces in the Czech Republic. It is built for fun, not racing. Great speed but not totally ruin the fun. When we got our kicks on the road, there were only a few variations floating above one hundred miles per hour.
As we indicated in our Shootout Bike eccentric liter affects leaf spring due to the structure of the entire fairing and its supporters have been lost for more road feedback with more rigid and compact aluminum handlebar Clubman style. Conical and cool, they have a demonic, horn appearance. Only slightly lower than the R-model geometry, the position of the rider will be aggressive unless you decide to buy the optional riser upright bar.
While Pete thought the R "directed a piercing glance," The style of the new CR is downright menacing with its eyebrow headlights, windshield and fairing minimum covers up collar. The front more now also contains a beacon in one piece.
Mirrors are mounted differently form the R and now speeds up to 80 +. With accessories more controlled and yet they mirror placed further back in your Sightline makes you look under your armpit instead of over your forearm for a clear view behind you.
Surprisingly, the body produces at least a lighter bike overall when compared with the 1125R. At high speeds, even without the front fairing quite massive, floating front end is still there thanks to the fairing scoops. The CR showed us the quickest way to the cafe next door can be had at almost 154 mph, slightly slower than the more aerodynamic R, which could reach a top speed of 162 mph. Very sweet, but below the rate in fact. I did almost as tall as the 215 mark (km / h) before we caught up with traffic in the restricted part of the road. Contrary to popular belief, not all miles of road speed limit is unlimited. Common sense, acute care and precise driving skills are needed. Fortunately, this seems commonplace in Germany, as was evident from the M5 that calmly slipped into and back of our package of passenger anger over 200kph.
When I talked with the coaches on the day the track goes inside Buell to Las Vegas for the seat of the opinion of the updated models, which varied. After assembling the 08 and 09 models now, I would say they have hit the 1125 (R) to over a dozen tracks of this instruction this year and future Buell owners in the safety of a circuit closed. Dennis Baker, a MSF instructor and philanthropist from Detroit has jumped on the R and CR back to back this month and said he had to buy A horse for your purposes - are mostly track use. He will say "the bubble helps at high speed without any steering damper."
I took my last track session Waldow Germany aboard the 1125R just to compare the two models, has never ridden the R, and the first impression was that it seemed like it was big. When the term flagship model bouncing off my helmet that the 20-minute drive, I could easily see what Dennis meant. Only recently-obstructive fairing did for a quieter ride, though I never crossed the mark tons, a small track.
Covering the corresponding wheels of the black powder body are Pirellis patented zero degree steel belted radial MIRS construction Diablo Corsa IIIS. These are the same construction is found in a powerful sport-touring replacement-for-the-1125 Pirelli Strada. Corsa III did all that could pave the potholes on the road around the street, but it seems that they just opened on the pavement in some areas. Even if they are good, the Cadillac is really nothing more than to put down the streets of the East German. Long lasting double compound IIIS Diablo Corsa are perfect for a big hole in the road bikes. Designed with long-term road capability and performance racing good offer from a compound of the highest friction relatively softer shoulder, DCIIIs provide more grip and better handling than the previous Corsa. Inside track goes another coach told me, was finally replaced by the first rear after 1100 miles in all bands, and long-lasting in my book. Street Fighting target market receives maximum lean angle, and confident acceleration out of corners.
linear pull and torque curve still reside. Chances are, youve already heard about fuel system problems and otherwise reported slow acceleration. Buell responded with sparks and remapped fuel cards, which would provide more than 20 percent better fuel economy, reduced rider-felt heat, improved starting and the all important low-speed maneuverability. EIC Duke called the acceleration of the 2008 Helicon "lethargic" down the straights, noting the obvious decline in torque and slow to REV-Vee to 72 degrees. Maybe upgrade the model 2008 would have adjusted our shootout result. When we get a peek at the new 1125 engine mapping, perhaps these words will melt. But well have to wait and see when we get a CR on our block to test against the likes of the Street Triple or Tuono 1050. Sure looks like we will have a fun time in 2009! These updates can be found at 2009 and 2008 with your updated details of the latest available installed.
Some heat was noticed on my right foot when first setting out on CR, but it was minimal in the cool fall temperatures - riding in California will be a better test of the tour against the model R.

2012 KTM 350 XCF W Review
350cc KTM when the project was announced, the riders and the media were enthusiastic about the idea of a lighter and easier to handle open class machine. When the bike arrived, however, told the media motocross was only slightly lighter than the 450 and the torque was much less, readers of a more rapid 250F. However, the machine won the race in the motocross world, as well as KTM had great success in the race off-road with cyclists on board motocross bikes converted 350SX.
By 2012 KTM made the conversion for you off the road, the transmission of a broad relationship and engine modifications that are most appropriate for aggressive power band of off-road racing. The new framework uses a technology liaison WP PDS shock swearing KTM off-road work better. A series of improvements in the clutch, the engine cases, a fork, tripleclamps, the position of shock rear suspension and ergonomics highlight the major changes. KTM has also improved the electric starter and added a more powerful 190 watts of FIM Enduro-legal lighting. The new exhaust system spark arrested and calm, and the EFI settings inviolable secure compliance with "green tag and California EPA.
At the 2012 KTM XCF-W printing AMA National Enduro launch Inyan Kara in Wyoming, we had the opportunity to try all the new KTM bike cross-country running, before a race. Being a two-stroke diehard fans, we really should choose a family-300XC-W race. This opinion will be changed quickly, when we boarded the 350XCF-W. Rotate the light seemed acceptable, do better in terms of speed compared to two shots and was the area most soft power this side of XR100. As the publishers changed the wheels during the day, was always the 350 that could not wait to drive again, and became a wheel in other critical models. Only two of 350S is available in the media we were able to compete elbows and destroyed our way to the line to
book 350XCF-W as our AMA National racing bike!

How does it feel? Well, is perched on a bike rack and youll feel just a bit lighter than the 450 version. Plastics have improved the ergonomics of the new pilot, so the bike is at home when sitting or standing. All normal KTM-isms are evident, KTM have become more than ever, but still KTM, which means it feels a little different from the unit and assembled with different-sized fasteners offered by Japan. One thing is certain, there is nothing in the KTM feels cheaply made, and everything is designed to be functional.
The hydraulic clutch uses a new type of membrane single spring, which is adjustable for preload. Light pulls and a feeling of progress are excellent. Despite the EPA compliance with the 350 is a strong, quick throttle response and fill in the still quiet exhaust note. Electric start fires the bike fairly quickly, but to be honest, the wheel will be faster when using the kicker.
Run the hard disk 350 through the gears and youll feel a little disappointed at first. There is no low-end hit and no wave of raw power. The 350XCF-W power range has a flat and featureless that keeps revving long after a 450 would have signed. Go back to back against KTM250XCF-W and it is apparently the 350 will have much more power at all points, but never enough to be scary, if not all exciting. As we climbed a lot of listening 250F motocross pulling harder, we knew from experience that performance range as the 350-worker, it would be a great enduro bike race.
Here are some random notes from our test run in the National Enduro Inyan Kara:
The KTM-350XCF-W is a fantastic traction, thanks to the incredibly smooth power band. The power delivery is confident, and you always know what will happen without any surprise.
-Speeding! This bike will scream (the rev limiter is set at 12 000 rpm) to keep the effort out of second place in the forest. Not much more low-end torque, but has a good hook on the top of the power curve where it begins to breathe harder! It also prevents revolutions in the sense of second-second speed Cappy tap-third. We would like to test the close-ratio version of XCF!

Even if you do not need the clutch 350 times to make a 250F or a two-time, lack of low range clutch shot requires a little zap in the corners and obstacles that surprise jumped more than 450 in one motion accelerator.
-The stability is excellent. We never thought we could say that in a KTM, but this bike is solid at speed. We also had to hum the tune of more than 80 mph in sixth a few times over the desert like streaks transfer Inyan Kara.
-The brakes are more than excellent. They do not fade and are very strong and progressive. We have a chronic trawling and MTI are overheated rear brake before the rear brakes to the point of the wheel does not rotate. This is certainly not the case for a new 350, which has never been any sign of the problem of the rear brake at all. For the record, there is very little engine braking, at least compared to 450
-350 Does not feel as heavy as 450, and in fact, he simply turns and 250 in the woods. This is a tough race all day in cycling.
Electric-fights start if you happen to stall the bike, when its really hot when a lot of elbow before the engine finally fires again. We have noticed this with other brands EFI "green label" four times and, so perhaps it is too lean air / fuel setting that causes this. In any case, the bike does not stall easily, and has never stopped, farted, barfed or anything, but well managed.

-The coupling can be a bit too light a few times when running wide open up a gear under a heavy load, we felt it slip a little. A rigid set preload on the clutch diaphragm spring may help.
-Fork is great. We never had the desire to even touch clicker. It been a great small-bump compliance, and can still absorb the greatest hits and even some of the sudden jump in the face without problems.

-Rear suspension is a bit better than previous systems, the PDS, but the wheel still wallowing through a fast sandy berms and whoops, and blew for traveling at high speed G-outs, sometimes to the point of us nervous. When we set to suck the stuff, kicking the back of roots and small logs. We slowed the rebound and compression increased, which helped a little, and later to treat severe than a trail of garbage. We could have probably a better choice if we had had more time to try, but you have to wonder why not just use a circuit KTM shock as they have done motocross version.

2010 KTM 530 EXC Review
Dual-sport cycles, by distinction, are experts of none. Typically melted, civil and neutered, they have never switched on serious individuals. That remaining debris individuals struggling to leap through qualifications loopholes to get ample light and permit clothing secured to their competitors enduro or motocross cycles. In a strong switch KTM produced its ever-popular four-stroke EXC series with complete DOT qualifications a few a long time ago. The hottest version of that preferred particular certain dog breed is this a long time KTM 530 EXC.

KTMs wholesome operate is covered in a Cr-Mo structure, with WP forks up entry (11.8" of travel) and KTM’s straightforward, non-linkage raise suspensions (13.2" of travel). Despite its dual-sport legality, the program is spec’d with appropriate springtime and damping prices for off-road sporting. Actually, small operate has been done to create the cycle DOT appropriate. The big variations between the EXC and its off-road relatives lie in DOT accepted Metzeler knobby wheels, pollutants warm and friendly carburetor jetting, higher gearing and a silent fatigue.

How successful is this cycle to ride? On the neighborhood, the remedy is ‘not very.’ Gearing is large, enabling straightforward operates at standard road prices. But this is a debris cycle first and major, so it vibrates, wiggles, lurches and is frequently unpleasant to experience when constrained into the streetbike position. That will not mean it’s not fun to experience the 530 EXC on the neighborhood, because it is. It’s a huge range actually, because the KTM is large, torquey, quick and attracts looks like a fluff (Red Bull?) in a the far east store. The wheels are wonderful, considering the restricted hold of knobby wheels on road. The electric instrumentation is not exactly set up, but provides enough information to keep you out of problems. The showcases are unclear, large and difficult. There are no person pegs, nor is there a big fat seat or a big fat gas container. This is a debris cycle, a serious debris cycle, with just enough neighborhood products to fulfill the experts. Being debris individuals, those disadvantages as a neighborhood cycle are good with us. Anything more would be unwanted, and care we say it…dorky. The KTM 530 EXC is most definitely not dorky.
